Aunque ya llevábamos varios años dándole vuelta, decidiendo si introducirnos o no en el mundo de los intercambios debido a que nos asaltaban continuas dudas de si debíamos o no intercambiar nuestra casa, finalmente nos decidimos probarlo por Semana Santa.

Encontramos un anuncio, que a parte de gustarnos mucho el lugar, un pueblecito de la costa Cantábrica, y la vivienda, nos llamó la atención también, porque los propietarios ya había realizado varios intercambios. Esto fue un punto muy bueno, ya que después de hablar con ellos durante un tiempo por mail y por teléfono, nos quedamos mucho más tranquilos. Nos contaron todas sus experiencias, y nos tranquilizó mucho.
We found an ad, which like very much part of the place, a village in the Cantabrian coast, and housing, also caught our attention because the owners had already made several exchanges. This was a very good point, and after talking with them for a time by mail and telephone, we were much happier. They told us all your experiences, and reassured us much.
Llegada la fecha, decidimos encontrarnos con los propietarios a mitad de camino, para intercambiarnos las llaves, y así conocernos personalmente. Nos encontramos con un matrimonio encantador, con muchos viajes a sus espaldas, y con amplia experiencia en intercambio de casas, lo cual nos encantó, porque si todavía teníamos alguna duda, nos desapareció totalmente una vez los conocimos. Habíamos hablado de tomarnos un café durante media hora, y así descansar también un poquito del viaje, y se convirtió en dos largas horas de interminable charla, debido a todo lo que teníamos que contarnos, fue estupendo, era como si ya nos conociéramos, lo cual era un poco cierto, ya que habíamos estado intercambiando información sobre nosotros durante un tiempo. Hablamos sobre nosotros, viajes, como funcionaban ambas viviendas, información importante, información turística, etc….. y el tiempo se nos pasó sin darnos cuenta. Cada uno le detalló al otro, todos los puntos importantes, que debíamos saber sobre la vivienda, para hacer nuestra estancia más cómoda, y finalmente cada uno seguimos nuestro camino.
Check the date, the owners decided to meet halfway, to trade us the keys, and so meet us personally. We met a charming couple, with many trips to his back, and with extensive experience in home exchange, which we loved, because if we still had any doubts, totally disappeared once we met them. We had talked about having a coffee for half an hour, and so also rest a little trip, and became two long hours of endless talk, because all we had to tell, it was great, it was like we already knew, what which was a little way, as we had been exchanging information about us for a while. We talked about travel, how they worked both houses, important information, tourist information, etc. ….. and time passed without us noticing. Each one explained to the other, all important points that we know about housing, to make our stay more comfortable, and then each went on our way.

Llegamos a la vivienda por la noche, y la verdad es que todo perfecto, era un precioso ático en el centro del pueblo, y con unas vistas espectaculares a la playa, tal cual aparecía en el anuncio.
We arrived at the house at night, and the truth is that all perfect, it was a beautiful penthouse in the center of town, and with spectacular views of the beach, as it appeared in the ad.
Todo estaba muy limpio, teníamos las camas preparadas, toallas en los baños, y además de dejarnos la nevera llena de bebidas, nos dejaron de regalo una botella de Txakolí, y unas pastas típicas de la zona.
Everything was very clean, had beds made, towels in the bathrooms, and also leaving us cooler full of drinks, we stopped Txakolí gift bottle, and a pasta typical of the area.

Tanto la vivienda como el pueblo en sí nos parecieron muy acogedores, sobre todo nos encantó los kilómetros de playa y la cantidad de senderos y de paseos que teníamos para caminar.
Both the housing and the village itself we found very welcoming, especially loved the miles of beach and the number of trails and walks that we had to walk.
En la vivienda nos llamó mucho la atención toda la información turística que tenían, así como un libro con toda la información de primera necesidad para los huéspedes, referente a la zona, centros de salud, supermercados, etc… Pero en concreto había un libro donde tenían guardadas todas las cartas de agradecimiento que les habían ido dejando sus huéspedes a lo largo de los años en los diferentes intercambios, que a mi personalmente me fascinó, porque transmitían como la gente que había estado en tu vivienda se había sentido como en la suya propia.

Museo Guggenheim
En nuestro primer día lo pasamos visitando Bilbao, la torre de Hiberdrola, el museo Guggenheim y algunas de sus calles principales. Comimos en un restaurante un poco especial, donde todo era de Wagyu, y por la tarde nos introducimos por las pequeñas callejuelas alrededor del estadio, ya que por la noche había partido y se podía sentir el ambiente por las calles.
On our first day was spent visiting Bilbao, Hiberdrola Tower, the Guggenheim Museum and some of its main streets. We ate at a restaurant a bit special, where everything was of Wagyu, and in the afternoon we enter by the narrow streets around the stadium, and that evening had gone and you could feel the atmosphere in the streets.

El segundo día aunque el tiempo seguía sin acompañarnos, fuimos a dar nuestro primer paseo por el pueblo, precioso, unas playas impresionantes, y la pequeña plaza con muchas tiendecillas, bares y restaurantes, y todo lleno de gente. Hacia el mediodía, nos fuimos a visitar un castillo que había a unos kilómetros, donde finalmente nos quedamos a comer, ya que era impresionante, y nos llevó un buen rato visitarlo todo, y por la tarde dirección a Santoña, donde pudimos visitar alguno de los fuertes, y dar un paseo por el puerto, de donde salían muchos barquitos para realizar paseos turísticos.El final de la jornada, como el tiempo seguía sin darnos tregua, lo pasamos en una pequeña taberna antigua donde podías pedir los típicos porrones para beber, o servirte tu mismo la sidra del barril, a unos precios de los de antes.
The second day although the weather was not with us, we went for our first walk around the village, beautiful, a stunning beach, and the small square with many little shops, bars and restaurants, and all crowded. Around noon, we went to visit a castle that was a few miles, which finally fell to eat, and it was awesome, and it took a long time to visit all afternoon and Santoña direction, where we visit one of strong, and take a walk by the harbor, where many boats out for walks turísticos.El end of the day, as the weather was still not give truce, was spent in a small old tavern where you could order the typical drinking jugs or help yourself to the cider barrel, about prices before.

El tercer día nos fuimos a visitar el pueblo y la reserva natural de Cabarceno. Nos gustó mucho, recorrimos una parte en coche, y algunos pequeños tramos andando, aunque hubiera sido ideal, poder llevar la comida y comer en el interior, si hubiera hecho buen tiempo, ya que los parajes naturales son preciosos. Pero por otra parte estuvo bien, porque nos obligó a salir a comer al pueblo, y poder entrar en las pequeñas tascas antiguas
The third day we went to visit the village and nature reserve Cabarceno. We liked, we toured some drive, some walk small sections although it would have been ideal to carry food and eat inside, had made good time, as natural landscapes are beautiful. But on the other hand was ok because we were forced to go out to eat the people, and to enter the small ancient taverns.
Palacio de la Magdalena
En nuestro último día, nos dirigimos a Cantabria, a visitar el Palacio de la Magdalena, la lluvia nos concedió una tregua, para realizar el recorrido andando, y poder disfrutar de las maravillosas vistas que ofrece. Hay un tren turístico que hace un recorrido por el interior, pero no para en el palacio, solo se puede ver de pasada.
On our last day, we went to Cantabria, to visit the Palacio de la Magdalena, the rain gave us a truce, to make the journey walking, and enjoy the wonderful views it offers. There is a tourist train that travels through the interior, but not in the palace, you can only see in passing.
Santillana
Y por último ya de camino a casa, una parada para visitar un par de horas Santillana, una pequeña villa medieval, desarrollada, en torno a la Colegiata de Santa Juliana. Nos gustó mucho el museo de barquillero, situado en la plaza, pequeñito pero muy original. Muchas tiendas con productos típicos, como las corbatas de hojaldre, o la quesada….
And last and on the way home, stop to visit a couple of hours Santillana, a small medieval town developed around the Collegiate Church of Santa Juliana. We liked the waffle Museum, located in the square, tiny but very original. Many shops with typical products such as puff ties, or Quesada ….

Y hasta aquí nuestro primer intercambio, que aunque corto muy intenso, y ya deseando realizar el próximo.

Se encuentra en la isla de Kekova, en la costa Mediterránea de Turquía. Los terremotos han sido tan continuados que la mayor parte de la antigua Apolonia, en la costa norte de la isla se ha hundido en el mar, creando una increíble ciudad sumergida que se puede ver a través de las increíbles aguas azules. Puedes nadar entre los patios de mármol, las columnas y las escaleras y las escaleras de piedra de edificios del siglo V a.C. Se puede hacer una excursión por la isla, visitar Kas y el antiguo Xanthos o pasear por una parte de la antigua Via Licia. Se puede llegar en barco desde Kas, y la mejor época es entre primavera y otoño.
